It’s the first week without NBA basketball until the fall, and it came quickly given Golden State’s thrashing of Cleveland in the Finals. We break down that brief series, then break into the key questions coming after. Things like:

  • Is there anything Cleveland could have done differently? (No.)
  • What does the rest of the league do about Golden State?
  • What are the vulnerabilities in the Golden State empire? What eventually stops the run?

We get into Kevin Durant, and his post-Finals comments to Yahoo!, Joe Lacob’s words to ESPN, and then, of course, spin it all into how it impacts this offseason. Which, as always, starts with LeBron James. How does the sweep impact his decision this summer. If he comes to L.A., how will he ultimately be regarded by fans here? Because no mistake, The LeBron James Thing this offseason is a different thing than anything the Lakers have undertaken. Even in their universe of purple and gold stars, his arrival here would mean something different for the franchise and fans alike.

Finally, a quick conversation about the death of Anthony Bourdain.
